Damascus Blade Detail:
The blade is carefully hand forged from 67 layers of VG10 & 15N20 Damascus steel using a process of layering, forge welding, hammering, and shaping. This construction creates a distinctive Damascus pattern across every blade, giving each Stormfury knife its own unique handcrafted appearance.
The blade is oil quenched at approximately 2100°F and rapidly cooled, with the process repeated twice to develop hardness throughout the steel. The finished blade achieves approximately HRC 62 or higher on the Rockwell Scale for excellent hardness, durability, and edge retention.
The 6.0" clip point skeletonized blade provides a versatile profile for hunting, skinning, slicing, and controlled field work while reducing unnecessary blade weight.
Scales & Handle Detail:
The handle is handcrafted from highly figured exotic ebony wood, selected for its rich natural grain, durability, and distinctive appearance. The wood is carefully sealed and finished to help reduce cracking and drying while preserving its natural character.
A brass mosaic pin adds decorative detail and helps secure the handle construction. Full tang construction extends the blade steel through the handle for added strength, stability, and balanced handling.
